    Hello all,

My recently purchased 96 model VFR750 is very clean, apart from the exhaust, which is showing signs of corrosion....and it bugs me.

I've been toying with the idea of replacing it, and found this image on the net - I love the look of that high mount aftermarket replacement!

Can anyone identify it, or a similar make? I am in the UK, so if anyone knows of a UK based supplier on an exhaust like this, has fitted one, can give me any advice etc, I'd very much appreciate it.

One thing my local Honda dealer did tell me last week, when I had the VFR in for a service, was "leave it as long as possible before you change it, we have done a few, and its a nightmare job...the labour costs will unfortunately be high" At least he was being honest!

    Many thanks for any advice,

    Andy.

It looks a bit like a Staintune high rise pipe.
Do you want to change the muffler or the headers?
The headers are a bit of a pain to replace, but its not that bad.

I'm hoping just the muffler, but will trust the judgement of my Honda dealer (I've been using them since my first bike at age 17, 33 years ago, so trust them not to try and rip me off).

That looks like a Staintune with the spud still in it. Good luck finding one. As for being difficult, it's just the can and there is nothing difficult about it. Loosen the clamp at the collector and remove the bolt in the muffler support. Take off old can and swap the new one in. If going to a high mount, you may have to take the rear fairing off to add a bracket, but its still less than 30 minutes including putting your tools away!

Now headers, screw that. That is a PITA. I'd have to have a buddy to help me because there is no way I would trust any dealership to do that work.
