I was wondering if any of you had experience using the Costco car buying program. I am beginning to wonder if I can get better deal by negotiating it myself with a salesman. (2007 Toyota 4runner SR5 2X4)

The problem is is that the internet fleet manager refuses to takeoff the dealer holdback and advertising charge(money they get back anyway) from the invoice. Double dipping assholes! The OTD (including all the fees) price right now is just above the MSRP and it is 0% financing. I am thinking the 0% financing is the reason he won't budge.

Should I just cut my losses and get it or what? I am just pissed that I might have to pay them almost $1100 in BS fees when they get that money back anyway!

    Any opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I used a credit union buyer's service with good results... there were no hassles.

Sounds to me like the guy you are dealing with is not motivated to help you, so find another dealership. You might look at the http://www.CarMax.com new-car dealership if they sell your brand to see a "real" price of a truck to compare to your local guy. A quick look at the Laurel, MD store shows a 4x2 for ~$4K below MSRP!

work the price of the car. After you get that to your number, then work the financing. They are seperate parts of your negotiation and are only related since the salesman knows you want the financing.

    Good luck Z-man
