OMG who let the bugs out? shessh, so last evening thought I'd go do some strolling along looking for that stretch of pavement to try another go at a Go pro video, and wouldn't you know it, the bugs come out in droves WTH. It was unseasonably warm here yesterday maybe that made em hatch at 95. I also get that they are part of a motorcyclist life and all, funny though don't think I see as many hit the auto, why is that? Any way hate to think if they are like this here, what the South east must run into.

I've started carrying a wet sponge in a ziplock bag so that I can clear away the worst of the little blighters. We're just hitting autumn so the numbers are reducing slightly, but that means the air temperature is less favourable for riding as well.

Worst is riding through dairy farm country after sunset, for some reason every bug that you hit has just flown off a fresh cowpat so not only do you get bug guts, you also get the joyful aroma of cow$hit.

We are dreading the love bugs down here, any day now there will be swarms with their acid filled little bodies. Better have wax on your bike as they can mess up the paint.

Dowse their little corpses with a slurry of bicarbonate of soda and water. Makes it easier for them to enter the gates of Bug Heaven.

I like that idea of a wet sponge ina sandwich bag. Cool idea. I also live in the land of copious quantities of dairy cow shit. Matter of fact, they have been mowing hay for several days so cow shit is being liberally spread all around my place

Small pack of baby wipes and a towel-------works great----every day when I get home I use the spray cleaner and wax from honda or pretty much any dealer, makes for very easy cleaning.

Yup. There may be a bull or two aroind but not many. A dairy cow only needs to have one calf to produce milk from what I understand. We seldom see tbe cows. They live in barns. Very mechanized.

Went to a place in WI where they had the cows on a "lazy suzan" cows would walk in and adventually get milked, it was very circular and cosmic at the same time, at the end of the tour we got ice cream sandwiches. They were doing something with methane too, as my memory serves me. Bugs suck, what you gona do, just dont smile. Everglades bugs have their own zip code I tell you that. Wipe your fork legs down after every ride just like zipping up your willy when your done with your business. :loco:

I also carry a micro fiber cloth and a can of foaming glass cleaner in my tank bag.

I usually have Plexus .. it's better for your visor since it's designed for plastic vs. glass.

The same could be said for women, except they run the barns.

From my trip to Nashville July 2014. This pic was taken in Texas. I thought it was bad there. Rolling through Arkansas? OMG! I was using baby wipes and a microfiber every thirty minutes just to be able to see where I was going. Quadruple the bugs and that is Arkansas.

You could use your shield to help pick out what to use for fly fishing.

Well ... I had wiped my visor clean prior to my commute home today.

In the ~70 km it takes to ride home, this is what my helmet looked like. I swear to god that one guy that hit and slid across my visor actually made a squeegee noise as he slid and I could hear a little voice say 'helllllp meeee'. Shitty day for that bug.
