Not at all related to this story but some people use WD40 to stop squirrels climbing bird house poles.

I hunted men for a while... And they had guns and shot back...

I say hunting any animal ain't really hunting, it's really more just harvesting, if you have any skill.

Q for Squirrelman: I was riding in N. Syracuse, NY earlier this week and saw several squirrels that were "black" in color. Down my way they're all gray (except for the Ground Squirrels, which are reddish). Are black squirrels common?

Why is it that on many of the "studly" BB's, there is an overabundance of current and ex "badass" military types. We all know that in the military there are those who don't do much more than sit at a keyboard all day or change out bedpans in hospital.

I figure too that if I hunt with an AK47 on full auto who needs skill? I also feel that I should be able to have a flame thrower. Kill em and cook em all in one fell swoop. Especially squirrels.

    Praise the Lord.

    Sound fun :)

Hey CandyredRC46, Are you Freedive...? I did some spearfishing in Mexico and it is challenging. If I have a chance visit Florida I have to look you up for some great diving and spearfishing. What type of spear do you use?

    Badbilly:

I am not trying t be a tool with what i am about to say, just educate.

It actually requires ALOT of skill to be any good on a machine gun of any kind. Since I have some experiance in this area I can tell you it takes an enourmous amount of practice to do well, much like riding a motorcycle.

I am not advocating thier use in hunting, just their is the misnomer that one pulss the trigger and sprays the area with bullets and they will hit their target. Not true.

If this seems untrue, I always point poeple to the video of those two bank robbers in CA that blazed away at the cops and although they wounded some, for the amount of bullets they let out, they didn't hit crap. You can tell by the way they shoot thay had no real training on machine guns.

    When Animals Attack!

    Thread Jackers go home.
I love any video or story of animals turning the tables on humans. I watch bull riding and cheer for the bulls to stomp harder, Pamplona is always a joy, and bear/mountain lion attacks make me smile for weeks. What is funnier than fat and juicy humans moving into the "woods" to get away from it all, and then getting a mountain lion on the back of their neck while jogging??!!!
I enjoy hunting, and eat plenty of delicious animals- just like to see some balance in the world. Did you ever see the one of the Animal Rights lady getting stomped by a bull in an alley of Pamplona? The video goes on for 10 minutes, but I believe she lived.
"Willard" is one of my favorite movies. Can we get some smart squirrels to organize their sharp toothed brothers to come out of the trees and swarm onto stupid people, SquirrelMan? Gnaw the tires off of cars?

I'd guess you like the 'nut sorting room' scene in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (the Willie Wonka remake w/Johnny Depp), where Veruca gets her due from the squirrels. I think we were all rooting for them, too!

actually, I haven't hunted squirrel but I've eaten them and cooked the right way they are pretty tasty. I figure it's just unfair to only eat things that aren't cute and cuddly. Rabbit is tasty, too. If you are gonna be a carnivore, then be an equal opportunity carnivore or be a friggen vegan. Oh, and hunting small game actually takes a better shot than big game. Of course, you don't have to be a good shot to hit your own damn foot.

On a side note, the link to that channel was one of my home town tv stations (we had 2 or 3 that the antenna would pick up and that was one of them)

that's true to an extent. there are many who don't use weapons as a regular part of their duty, but if I am not mistaken I think that every job classification is still required to go through at least a basic weapons training so while they are no "badass" they still have more weapons experience than laymen. I was actually certified to fire M16, M203, M60 but even trained a bit on a few others just not certified. I don't see the need for hunting with any of those myself, though. I'd rather have a rifle designed for what I am hunting. JMHO of course.

They are here in the midwest as well, and are on the no hunting list.

All squirrels are are rats with fuzzy tails.

    Thank you for your question.

Yes, in some northern areas, especially in Canada, black squirrels are fairly common.

They are genetically identical to the Sciurus Carolinensis (common grey) except for the "melanistic" phase which causes their darker color.

To me they look like they're wearing Formal dress and quite elegant.

Squirrelman welcomes reports from the field ( ya' all) related to sightings of the species whether ground or tree dwelling......to suppliment his ongoing scientific research.

Wow, don't know where that came from. I didn't use a "machine gun" for what I was talking about, but a modified Remington 700 .308/7.62

While not inaccurate in my point, I was being more than a bit facetious there BB, relax. It was really more of a pity statement actually, as my experience jaded me to hunting, which I used to enjoy.

I was unaware that we were a "studly" BB..... Cool, makes me want to strut. I'm also ex-military, but I opted out of Badass School and instead went to Crazed Killer Training, but before I could graduate I killed everyone in class and had to go to Blowing Up Shit Advanced Training, as you can guess that didnt work out well either, so they put me in Search and Rescue, where I learned there was much more to it than just yelling "Hey get the hell out of there before you fuckin die, what are you , nuts? how the hell did you get yourself in such a predicament?" at people. Then, they put me in Law Enforcement for a while. Stop a minute and savor the delicious irony in that one....mmmmm......you can even smell it ...

A flamethrower would certainly get the job done, but I would be afraid I might set the woods on fire and burn my own damn self up, and there's also the fact that the food would taste like gasoline.

Landmines are the obvious answer, squirrel steps on the mine.....booom.

Sorry S'man heeheeeheee Im so mean.but I 'm telling you, I dont trust those squirrels

Knife, have you ever seen a Fox Squirrel?

They kind of look like a red squirrel except a hell of a lot bigger. Fox and black squirrels can get pretty big.
