I was in a rush getting my bike back together...low blood sugar playing a role here...and I broke one of the 4 bolts that hold the front fender on. Would any one be able to help with the best way to remove the broken piece and perhaps know what thread it is?

    thanks in advance!!

Haven't got a clue what thread it is, sorry.

First thing is to take the fender back off so you don't damage it while working. There's a couple of ways, and it shouldn't be too hard since the bolt isn't bottomed out in the hole.

    1. Use vise grips if you can get a grip on what's left of the bolt.

    2. Get a very sharp center punch or awl, center punch is better. Use a small hammer and center punch and drive the bolt counterclockwise using a shallow angle. Maybe use a bit of WD40 to ease the bolt turning.

    3. Center punch the center of the bolt, and use a left-hand drill bit to drill into the bolt. Many times the drill bit will catch and back the bolt right out. If not use a screw extractor, but carefully since breaking a screw extractor will really mess up your day.

    Good luck.

Or you can use easy out like a reverse drill bit. First spot drill in the center and use the easy out to remove the broken thread. The bolt size I would think it is a M6. Any chance to post the picture of the actual aread where the bolt is?
