I got my bike used w/ 1800 miles and some Bridgestone Batlax tires on it. I'm assuming they come stock. Everytime I come within 1/4 inch of the side walls the rear end starts sliding out from under me. Does anyone else have this problem? I know the streets are extra greasy here in LV, but I should be able to get rid of my chicken strips without lowsiding... Do the stockers suck or is it just me?

Never had any trouble getting rid of the so called strips off the BSs I had, so Hmmm.... they worked so well went and got the BT56s on the next pair. I'd still be running them if it wasn't for the dealer having a killer price on the pirellis Corsas. go do a track day maybe have a track marsahll give em a try, not sure what version BS you have could be they're just a hard compond Like most OEM tires there's room for improvement.

In Vegas all the tire folks say you need stickier tires becuase there is so much grease on the roads. I'm figuring the stockers are just too hard. I normally don't have an issue getting tipped over, but I've never felt the tire start sliding out each time either... Guess I'll give the Tire Shop a visit and see if the compound is deemed too hard for Vegas.

    Good idea to check hardness.

You might also try sanity on the street. A track day is a lot cheaper than a ticket (or death)!

(not to piss on your fun!!)

Oh, I don't ride all crazy in town. I mostly take corners really sharply at lower speeds to see how agile I can get.

I do however go fast in the mountains but there I'm (mostly) just risking my own skin.

I've never dragged a knee, but I would like to get close. It's just unsettling to be getting on the freeway at not-insane speeds and feel the tire slipping a few inches, grabbing, then slipping a few more inches every morning. That kinda saps my confidence and I end up riding worse.

I think it's the compound... I've had my tire slip twice while taking off and twice upshifting to second. Admittedly racing someone at a light, but hey, it's Vegas. Besides my office is way out in the boon docks and the last light sends you down a long straight road through two dirt fields. I think I'll just until these die and get some Conti Road Attacks, I've seen good reviews here.

Still riding my contis pretty hard. I can still get enough lean to scrape and I'm at least a couple thousand into them. I think I'll buy them again... They should give us a group discount so many of us have bought them now...
