Ok guys, this is probably just a simple adjustment or fix (hopefully).
I recently purchased a full set of wheels/new tires/ new rotors off a 85 vf500 for $75. I have an 86 vf500 and everything mounted up perfect except... the brake rotors rub the pads, the rotors I took off were pretty shot. Is there a adjustment screw somewhere and I am just not seeing it? Or do I need to bleed the brakes and reset them that way? The local mechanic told me that they would set themselves with some hard braking but that just didnt seem right. They dont scrub bad, you can still turn the wheels by hand when its off the ground but u just hear that scrubing sound.
Sorry if this is a post repeat but I could not find an old one for reference.
Any and all help is greatly appriciated.

    Thanks!!!

I think as long as the wheel still freely rotates, it should be fine. Mine ride ever so slightly on the surface of the rotor on both of my bikes.

Bleeding the lines may be a good idea too, but likely unrelated to this.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a more concrete answer for you.

Ok thanks!! It does still rotate, but there is some resistance, and when on the stand when put in first gear the engine will easily pull but when the clutch is pulled it only makes around two revolutions then stops. This is my first road bike so it might be different, but I have ridden off-road bikes all my life and never had one do like this before.
I also checked the width of the new rotor to the stock today and the new rotors are OEM size, I am pretty sure they are Honda replacements. I will try bleeding the brakes this weekend! If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know!!

    Thanks!!
