I have noticed I get more brake dust and grime on my right front. It even gets on the fender. I was trying to check it today looking at the pads and stuff but I didn't take the caliper off because I was reading that I need to put it back on at proper torque. Anway, where should I be lookig to see if there is a hydraulic fluid leak? Also is there some trick to see the wear indicators on the brake pads cause I couldn't figure out the diagram in the manual.
That is odd becuse I don't get any dust at all and I have turned the rotors funky colors of blue due to heavy use. Is there a chance that the pads are not Honda OEM? If there is a leak, your lever will be soft. It would likely appear between the caliper pistons and the backside of the brake pads themselves. There are no indicators as such that I'm aware of. You need to measure the remaining pad thickness and compare it to the min alowable which means that you need to remove them or you can visually inspect the pads with a flashlight and estimate their thickness to avoid unnecessary dissasembly. The second method is most popular but you need to know what you are looking at.
If you are having more brake dust on one side thanthe other, I might be inclined to think on side is doing more work than the other. But I have never dealt with dual front disks before, at least not where I have had any problems. and I could be wrong of course. Been that before lol.
well, I started to pop them off but when I was looking in the manual and it said to put them ___ pin back in with XX torque I decided to wait until I buy a torque wrench. The front does feel a tad soft, but I'm no expert on that. I guess I'll go get a torque wrench and give er a looksee. The pads dont look too awful thick to me, but I haven't seen them new so I dont know how thich they started. guess I'll start looking for some EBC HH pads.
