I just got back from a week long ride on my 98 VFR on the Blueridge Parkway. It was one of the most beautiful roads I have ever been on. If anybody makes it to the Virginia/North Carolina region I would highly recommend rdiding the Parkway and Deal’s Gap (if you like the twisties). The Parkway is about 490 miles long and doesn’t allow any commercial traffic. It is a very scenic ride with many curves and altitude changes. The speed limit is only 45 but you won’t need to go too much faster than that on the southern region. The northern region is lest twisty and allows for higher speeds. Deal’s Gap is only 14 miles long (I think) but due to the significant amount of turns is a very challenging ride and will tire a rider in the short stretch. I would highly recommend anybody looking for a great ride to check both of these rides out. My friend and I had a blast carving the corners and just seeing the stunning landscape that this ride presents.
I hear Deals Gap is awsome. 11 miles, 318 turns (or something close to that). I hope to one day experience that ride myself. But firs I have to work up to riding long distances in order to get there. lol. Deals Gap is one of best, if not the best) roda to ride. It apparently got much accollades in the press.
