I just got my gauges back from Bluegauges.com and reinstalled them on my red 07 ABS. My first impression is that they're a tad on the bright side, but I think I can live with it. I couldn't get a very good picture due the brightness, but here's what I got. They're actually easier to read than they look in the picture.

I also did a quick homemade fender eliminator (dremel on stock fender). I think it came out pretty good, and it maintains the stock mounting point for the OEM saddlebags, which I will have soon.

And here's the new Givi Touring windscreen that I plan to use during the cold months. I'll probably run the stock windscreen in the summer.

And just for the hell of it, here's a larger version of my avatar picture.

When I get my new FMF Apex exhaust installed, I'll post some pics, vids, and sound clips for anyone interested.

I've been wanting to go with the blue gauges; looks great! How long did you want from the time you shipped?

I dropped them off at a UPS store on Nov 11th, they arrived at Bluegauges (in Buffalo, NY) on Nov 17th, I got them back via USPS on Nov 26th. They generally ship them back within a couple days. I think because of the weekend, mine didn't actually start moving back to me until Monday, the 22nd. But that's why I chose to do it this time of year...it's been too cold to ride anyway! Not really sure what else to say about the gauges...they might be a little too bright for someone that rides at night alot, but in general, I'm happy with them. Here's another shot of them...

I would lov to see and hear your new FMF exhaust (I hav an 07 glory red also). I was going to buy a set but was told they are very loud, which I don't want due to being a cop magnet. Please post asap! Where did u get yours from?

I got mine directly from FMF--FMF Apex-Honda VFR800. $799.99 with free shipping. They should arrive on Tuesday, but I'm not sure if I'll install them this week. I'm hoping to do a before/after video to compare stock to FMF. I'll start a new thread when I do.

Got em on, and they sound pretty good. Much more throaty and louder at idle and low rpms. Definitely louder high up too, but even the stock pipes sing pretty good at 10K. I was really looking for more volume and deeper sound below 5K, and these FMF's do the trick. Based on many videos I've watched of many different exhausts, I would say these sound a bit like the Two Brothers. Deep, without being raspy up high like gutted stocks are. Still waiting for a good day to get it out and make some vids (can't really get a good sound in the garage). Maybe I'll go ahead and get some pictures at least, this weekend.

P.S. I also got my oem saddlebags and put em on. Not sure if they would go on with the FMF's in "normal" position. (I switched sides with them, much like the photoshop someone did on another thread about these pipes)

Ok, I started a new thread for the exhaust--fmf-apex-exhaust-installed-pics-vids.html

DriverDave: How do you like that givi touring screen compared to the stocker? I know my bike is a 5th gen but the givi touring screen is still a similar shape. I bought the bike with the givi screen on and I don't have a stock one to compare it to. I'm only 5'7" and the givi screen seems to put the air at ear level making the wind noise louder on the vfr than my old naked bike a highway speeds. I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me to get my hands on a standard size screen. Btw, beautiful ride you got there.

    Thanks Davis,
I like the Givi, it definitely causes less wind to hit my head, and I can lean down and actually get behind it. Can't really do that with the stocker. But I plan on running the stock one in the summer when it's warm. I mostly got the Givi to make cooler riding (40F-60F) a little more tolerable. I don't really mind the wind with the stock screen when it's hot out.
