I know a lot of blackbird owners use vfr bars as risers, but im wondering if anyone has gone the other way around, using blackbird bars to lower the riding position of the vfr?

A friend of mine gave me his because he put vfr bars on his blackbird, just curious what to expect if i put them on my vfr

    Thanks

Don't expect the apocalypse or for it to rain frogs or shit like that. Expect some responses like " I don't know but felt I had to say something to maintain image."

Rip off the stock bars and bolt on the Blackbird bars IMO, would be the way to motorcycle nirvana.

Then again I may be wrong and there are 1500 guys here who have done this already and are just dying to see thier names in print or trying to cop points for a motorcycle merit badge. ;)

What I would do is tell your buddy with the Blackbird that a whole shitload of people on a VFR BB crashed because the stock VFR bars snapped. That way he might sell you the Blackbird for a couple of hundred.

I'm whining here. I shoulda bought one when they were first out. ;)

If it works I would love to know I was thinking about a way to get that aggressive riding position and hadn't ran across any ideas for a way to do it.

SN I'm only 30 and I defiantly don't want HELI bars.

After re-reading that bit, I was lost too.

By now you have figured out what I meant to say. LOL

Helis on my 91, stock bars on my 1200. Put some K75 bars on my BMW R100RS for a little rise.

Won't the powder coating add thickness and screw up the throttle? Or will you have to take off the coating where the throttle rests?

Powder coat like paint is measured for "thickness" in mils. Best deal IMO is to mask any areas that do not need powdercoat or paint.

Thanks, I'm looking to have a few parts on an older bike I'm restoring powder coated. I had seen on one of those chopper shows that they had to recut all the threaded holes in the frame after it came back from powder coating. You would have thought they would drop in dumby bolts and then just unthread them and use them again on the next frame.
