I have a 5th gen VFR 800 and a 75 Kawsaki H1. Both need new tires and chains.

I figured I'd ask if any knows the best deal that might be out there on both. I'm in Canada, but have both US and CAN address to ship to, but buying from fewier places is usually cheapest.

    Suggestions?

We have several threads on this topic but in the effort to make it quick (and not have to dig up a link), I go to www.jakewilson.com for my tire buying online. They've consistently been the least expensive I have seen online and I usually get my tires in 3 days (Free shipping method). Note that they are the same company as www.rockymountainatv.com. Although I do not know if RMATV gives cash back, JW does. I just received $50 back the other day!

With the exchange rate what it is, I think you are better off buying those in Canada but do the research and math and find out for sure.

I have used DID several times and have been happy with pricing from here

Tires, I have purchased a couple sets from here. I think they were free ground shipping from Quebec. But then you will be paying for mounting and balancing.

People have given me a heads up on tire deals from here. But you would have to drive into Vancouver to Fraser Way and Marine Drive to pick them up.

Give Big Top Powersports a call and get some pricing locally in the Wack. If you are going stateside, I have spent money at Skagit Powersports in Burlington. http://www.skagitpowersports.com/ They are great guys there. I can't say I know if you will be getting any great deals price wise though.

There is a guy in Abbotsford who is an idle member of this site who mounts and balances tires. I don't know what he charges but if you buy them on line and want them mounted and balanced, let me know and I can make the connection for you. He has the oddball attachment needed to ballance our wheels from single sidearm setups.

I am waiting now for a couple month's worth of pension cheques to arrive so I can pay for a new rear tire.

That was mine when I arrived home from R3 2012. That trip was some 5 weeks and 8,000 miles. Checked the rubber at second to last fuel stop. Last fuel stop was about 1/2 hour from home so didn't bother. This was what I found when I got off the bike in my driveway.

    Shocking!

    1) When I saw the subject I thought for sure that people up north were putting chains on their motorcycle tires for winter. I figured those are some serious bikers.

    2) Given the above it seems like we need a fundraiser for our retired guy in blue.

Canada's Motorcycle almost always has the best deal on tires hands down ... bought several sets from them now, as well as a number of other things including apparel, fluids, and parts. They come fast and cheap for quality brands!
