Bizarre Electrical Problem! Help!!

Hi folks, new here and just bought a 2000 vfr yesterday. I have mostly been a sport bike guy in the past but the vfr has always been a eye catcher to me and happened to stumble across one dirt cheap. Got it home yesterday and started cleaning a few things up, changed the oil and flushed radiator fluids. I let it idle for about 20 minutes or so just to make sure it was cooling well and no leaks would pop up. I then killed it and when I went to start it back up the battery was dead. I happen to have another but when I put it in as soon as the terminals where hooked up the starter started to turn over, even with the ignition off. The starter would continue until I disconnected the battery or if I turned the ignition on the bike would fire up and the starter would then stop. No fuses are bad so I kicked around for a couple hours looking for something visual that may be off and couldn't find anything. Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks!

 

Sounds like starter relay is arced itself permanently on.

 

Yep! It was indeed the starter relay!
