I was at Barnes & Noble sponging the magazine rack and cam upon this months British BIKE magazine with a lengthy article were they buy a 1st generation VFR 750 ( not a VF700 ) and they also pick up a V-TEC VFR 800 and take them on a cross country in Spain ride to evaluate the 27 year difference between the bikes. To basically sum up there impressions, the VFR750 is the better bike over all, it is more raw and sporty, has that wonderful gear driven engine , super reliability and that VFR sound and has a nice mild usable torque curve , it has a better more usable wind screen and feels better in the saddle over long distance. altho the old suspension sucks and it has a buzzy feeling thru the bars. The VFR800 V-TEC is definatly much more sexy looking, has better new'er dash etc.... they think the V-TEC comes on good in high rev's but other wise the engine is a bit flat and unimpressive even tho it is obviously more powerful over all , they think the VFR- 800 is too much of a departure from the true older VFR's Go read the article cause I am probably butchering it .....PEACE
