I have just had an RK chain and sprocket kit delivered, 16:43.
Has anyone tried one of these bikes with a 17 front sprocket and a std 43 rear?
    If so,
Does it drop too much low end power?

I can't say for the 4th gen but i'm up one tooth on my 6th gen and it works just fine.

It does throw the speedometer off so you will need some sort of speedo healer to get the correct reading and to make sure that the odometer is collecting miles at the proper rate.

    Thanks Jethro.
I have dropped 4 teeth on my CB750 when working in the country and covering lots of highway miles, the loss of performance at the lights was noticeable but not awful.
They use the same style of sprocket as the VF1000R's so I have a spare 17 laying about to try with.
