The best sounding bike is the one you're riding.

It's funny that the VFRs v4 I not there considering both the Cross plane R1 & RSV4 besides sounding brilliant sound like VFRs with the right pipe on them.

And no triples or flat sixes, both of those engines can sound good.

Any race engine running right sounds great. The dude included some great ones but "the twelve best?". I don't think so.

BB's vote for a couple... A Manx Norton with an open megaphone and an F Head 750cc HD K bike racer with open headers at aboot 5K.

i was attending an AMA race about 1997, and the 2 factory Harley 1000R's, accelerating out of a second gear turn, sounded as deep and ground-pounding mean as a steam locomotive or heavily-loaded D-8 Cat uprooting trees !!! Awesome !!

Me and my older brother were WMRRA novices in '94. They allowed him to race his XR1000 which was too big for the class but they figured he'd be slow. Bro did pretty damn good. More than one rider came up to him after a race to let him know that he scared the shit out of them. The didn't know what the noise was coming up behind them.

I definitely agree with the Daytona 675 triple and RSV4 but I have issues with the Cross plane R1. I think its on there as a novelty more than the sound since it's not much different than say a twin in sound. And since its an "all times" list, I personally would have put an old air cooled GS or GSXR motor on there representing the in line 4.

I guess I'm just glad there was no fat street Harley on there going po-ta-to, po-ta-to...

If there was no po-ta-to, po-ta-to there would be no Jo-Jo's.

He fixed it and last year a Japanese collector bought it. They crated it up and shipped it to the Rising Sun. *sniff*
