I have a copy of the Factory Service Manual that came with my bike. It has a few errors I've already found in the short time I've owned it. Typical cam timing instructions, written by an autistic AeroSpace engineer for sure. Did Clymer or Haynes improve on the FSB or are they pretty much copies like they sometimes are? Every once in a while they really make a good one. Where are the best instructions to set cam timing? Surely someone here has simplified the mumbo jumbo into easily understood lingo.
Respectfully, the 500's FSM is gospel. All other service manuals place a distant second. I am surprised to read that you think the FSM is balderdash. Could you please be more specific regarding the errors you believe to have found?
