It's a matter of personal preference, but what do YOU think is the best looking version of the VFR?
Do you like the sharp-edged version of the sixth gen, or the swoopy lines of earlier models, or maybe the familiar-but-progressive fascia of the latest bike?

Personally, I've always had a love affair with the 1985 VF1000R. She was a pig but God was she gorgeous to look at (kinda like an ex of mine). A beefy bitch. I want one in my living room.

Of course, I could be a little biased.

Speaking of bias, 3rd gen in white.

As far as the VF1000R, 1986 is the one. Comments, ergos suck unless you're about 6'. Long torso reach to pegs and long reach to bars. Once it starts moving its a freight train. Getting a little hard to find in great shape. Saw one ad recently with the alloy wheels already installed, nice.

    That's simple KT,my old '97 VFR750.

Glistening in the sunlight in sparkling Pure Red Pearl paint sporting dual oversized NACA ducts on the mid fairing panels with Ferrari Testarossa inspired grillwork vents and flowing curvy bodywork with a blacked out lower bellypan it was sort of a poor man's NR750 for the masses.

I lusted after one for so long but ironically of all the VFR's that I had it was the one I owned for the least amount of time.
Ended up trading it in on my '04 RC51. Pained me to do that but I couldn't make the down payment without it.

I still have that old Diesel but to this day I still do miss my old '97. Was hands down the prettiest machine that I've ever owned.

Sounds like you were a commentator at a fashion show describing an expensive wedding gown.

I really like the looks of the latest 8th gen. Down right sexy. Can you imagine that in the bright blue that is availablejust about everywhere except Canada and USA?

Damn, Stosh, I think that first paragraph gave me a hard on. I always liked those NACA ducts on the '97, very sexy.

Right now, I think the 8th gen is the best looking of the breed. Prior to that, I think the 6th gen as a whole is the best looking. Followed by the 3rd, then the 7th, then 5th. The 4th gen doesn't really do much for me in the looks department though.

Actually, you could take a rusted over, broken down, torn up piece of shit of a bike - and if you put Jev's lady on it, that's the best looking one. For those of you who aren't "Insiders", you may not fully appreciate my comments.

I picked up the 6th gen just for the looks until I realized and read about the VFR legacy. I like the 7th gen the best followed by 6th Gen. The 8th gen looks like 5th gen to me.

As a 6th Gen owner and advocate I almost hate to admit it, but I have seen some of ya'lls 5th Gens pictured on here that are extremely sharp bikes and makes me kinda want one of those too. Too bad I am not as rich as I once was or I probably would.

The evolution of the VFR has made the 8th gens more refined and contemporary, I get a lot of comments when ever I park it. Still like the classic look of my 83 1st gen. All the VFR's are good looking bikes.

Wow, really surprised by the answers. I think the 4th gen in pearl white is the sexiest VFR to date, followed by the 8th gen in the same color, then 5th gen. I find the 6th gen (which I own) to have a purely hideous fairing, and the fifth and 7th gens aren't much better. For old VFRs I find I just can't appreciate them - I'm too young (34), and I think my aesthetic sensibility for motorcycles was really 'set' in the 90s. Probably explains why I like the look of the 4th gens!

Awe.. they are all good, some better in different perspectives. Me goes like this, NR750 hands down. NR750#2.JPG It should have been a production bike with the VFR 4th gen engine. 4th gen looks and feel, prefer the 5th gen drive train. Then a close runner up is the new 014, it's so Acura. I'd have one if it's wasn't so price ??? it's biggest competitor is the 5th gen. The older ones are great too. the 6th to me was so genetic, yes it's still good, but that's my opinion. They all are great in there own way.

I think the 7th gen 1200 is the sexiest looking VFR ever made -- most won't agree with me and that's okay. If I could get a 5th gen engine in a RWB anniversary edition that would be the bomb.
