I have a Blackberry and even though I was against getting it, I have been surprised by how good the Garmin app works. I have had all the Nuvi's since they first cam out a few years back (best friends with all So Cal Best Buy managers so I just trade em) and the app works almost as good. Basic functions are there and only a tad bit slower. My Bbery is linked to my helmet via bluetooth so all the turn by turn with name instructions come through clear as a bell. My tank bag has a see thru window for the phone so no mount was needed & at $80, I saved cash too. I'm sure the app is available for other smart phones, so check it out before you commit to a stand alone unit.
