been looking on here for a while and its time to post my bike

this is my gen5 vfr800 1998 as of last summer this year total nut and bolt standard apart from nitron race rear shock and ohlins front springs on the front ,


I have been working on her hard to save all the original body panels because they are a1 condition and turn it into a race rep from the early 80s im going for the rothmans theme i have sprayed another tank which i bought on fleebay it was teal grean a bit of a bargain really at £55 with out a dink/dent on, the best part was the seller left all the sender and everything else on as if it had just been taken off the bike whole here is a picture of the tank i have painted in the rothmans livery im no painter just a handy diy'er


the next picture is what i have mocked up with microsoft photodraw an old program, but great program & one i infinity know how to use, here is a picture of my bike i have painted but still to finish totally thoughts please on this classic old school design please be honest because you cant hurt my feeling because i love it,,,,

hi thanks for the welcome the pictures will be thick and fast dont you worry about that,,,, the vfr800fiw is a legend of a bike i have onwed so many but its this old girl that does it for me and i still cant figure out why its just a 1998 thing when bikes where built to there best not a cost

 

It looks great!
I would pull the center stand and the rear pegs as well as install an 8 spoke rear wheel to complete the look. Oh man would a LH exit exhaust ever improve the look!!

Nice work so far and I believe that you picked the perfect machine to do it to.

I think the 8 spoke wheels are over rated. Especially when painted white. But seriously Patch. Nice project. I agree. That Rothman's concept is just ubber cool. Looking forward to watching this one develop into reality. Sometimes this things take a little longer that one would like.

No unfortunately i didnt take many a crime i know i do have one of the tank though


also i ordered a new double bubble wind screen yesterday so should be here tomorrow its a skidmarx double bubble bright blue hope it looks ok when fitted same as this one

Very Nice! I'm a huge old school Rothmans fan. I had my CBR1000rr with Rothmans plastic on it. Pics in my photo album. Keep up the good work!
