Just a real easy question folks, took my GEN 5 apart for a winter overhaul and am now piecing it back together but I'll be darned if I can remember where the main battery ground lead connects to!!Does it just bolt to the frame with the other ground wire cluster or does it connect somewhere else!!!And yes,I know,I should have taken photos as I was striping it down!!Your sincerely, another Homer Simpson,,,,,DUH!!

I don't know, but IMO, Tinkerinwithstuff on this board is pretty damn good with electrical related questions. If no one else answers. maybe drop him a PM.

Did you try using the advanced search on this forum? I swear within the last 2 or 3 months there was a post made and Tink posted some photos in response.

Dig around. You might come up with the answer.

It attaches to the frame on the right side just below the top right sub-frame mounting bolt. Ten mm bolt I think.

Thanks for all your help and advice folks,a fellow member on the forum who was recommended reckons the best place to connect it is along with the ground wire cluster that bolts to the frame on the right hand side,in theory it makes good sense, thanks again for the help!!

I am glad to hear the cybermechanics on this forum have come up with an answer!

Once you get the bike back up and running would you be interested in taking it for a decent shakedown trip? If so you may be interested in some of the following events which I was about to post up in the Europe section.

At the moment a group of us will be visiting the Black Forest from 17-20 May, and on 19-21 July my local motorbike club (SAMVA) hosts the annual Burn Mountain Rock Festival. Pictures from last year are at the end of this link - Burn Mountain Rock 2012 As last year, there will be trials and stunt riding displays, daily organised rides in the Alps and rock music into the early hours. With free entrance and free camping the meet attracts hundreds of bikers. PM if you want to know more.
