Hello Riders, My ? is can you have leads off your battery posts that run out the bottom
of the bike, so when tending or charging you dont have to lift the seat? and when charging or tending do you have the disconnect the terms from the bike off the battery. What chargers or tenders do you like?

    Thanks again

Yes you can. I have a Yuasa tender (around 35$) and it comes with jumpers as well as a pigtail you can put on your battery terminals for convenient connection. We've used a couple of other types of tenders at work that are fancier and a good deal more expensive and I don't think they are any more reliable. I'd get the Yuasa.

I have the Battery Tender lead attached to the battery. I like the standard SAE style plug it uses that I can also plug my heated vest into. I recently ran an extension under the tank that comes up around the steering head that allows me to also plug in the cig. lighter (12v power) attachment for charing my cell phone/gps, etc..

I use the Sears DieHard Battery Charger/Maintainer. $30 online or in store. It has the same leads as other products so if you bike is already wired for another product, it will probably work. My VFR had a Battery Tender leads already connected and it plugged right in.

for what it is worth, here's what it looks like on a 6th gen. You should be able to get similar results from earlier generations. I'd say the same for 7th gen, but don't know enough about where they hid the battery to advise anyone. Most chargers come with some type of dongle/tail connection that you can access without taking the seat on/off. good luck and post some pics of your results if you can. Peace. = Noz

Note that NCB has an NCB approved provider as well. Perhaps on my next bike :) So far no issues with the BT for me.
