Its guys like this that I hope they catch and then put the screws to them. http://tukwila.komonews.com/content/speeding-motorcyclist-taunts-state-trooper-trapped-crashed-car
I read a ton off each of the multiple links on each site. I say the whole thing is BS on everyone's side. That's right, you read that correctly, all of it is BS. The LEO is BS'ing. The news is BS'ing. The riders are BS'ing. Why you ask? LEO: If they were telling it straight, the dash cam footage would have been produced instantly. A family friend is a maintenance guy for the NJ DOT. He said dash cams are as well protected as black boxes in airlplanes. Producing the dash cam vid would solve this instantly. There had to be at least 1 witness to this. Surely that person would step forward to verify this information. That person(s) has not stepped forward because the information presented isn't true. News: Does anyone believe the news anymore? I didn't think so. Riders: NO ONE has big enough balls or is stupid enough to return to the scene of a crash POLICE CRUISER.!.!.! NO ONE!!! What shows up at the scene of a crashed marked unit? That's right, MORE marked units & ambulances & eye witnesses. Much like the story of the guy who had the off duty LEO pull his gun on him without ID, this is simply bad form on ALL parties. This will set back LEO & Rider relations a good deal in WA for some time. Pity. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
Link worked now. About the riders, the report doesn't say an approximate age of the riders. For all we know this could have been a couple of 15-18 year old's. We all know the AVERAGE (some exceptions) 15-18 year old these days doesn't have the common sense of wet toast, or the typical respect for authority. You see it all the time on the news, footage of a high schooler beating up a bus driver, or 3-4 of them caught on a parking garage camera jumping someone elderly. As far as the cop goes, he probably shouldn't have been chasing after those guys in the first place. Radio's, can't out run them. The cops I run into through my work with the Fire Department all talk about the risks vs. gains with stopping someone and it just seems like if they were doing over 100mph that the risk definitely outweighed the gain. Maybe someone in the law enforcement biz can chime in and shed a little light. After having said all this, I do agree with KC-10 FE, it all seems like a big load of BS.
I also agree there's more to this story. One news report and one side of the story? The cop was chasing the fastest guy? So what he passed the rest of the crew and was proceeding to try and take down the guy in front? BS - something doesn't add up.
Good points KC. By the way, I live in Jersey. I have no idea about the origins of the article/newscast. It was just something I stumbled across.
It's from the Seatlle area. I would definitely like to see what ACTUALLY happened. Maybe (slim chance at best) we call all learn from this. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
I was once asked to pay for a police car.......it was more than a request.......I was lucky enough that the judge felt that the LEO was reckless in trying to catch me and it was his bad judgement that was the cause of the wreck. All at fault in both.
