Well, as those of you have been following my saga know, I dropped my VFR a couple days ago... Today, I began the repair process...

    here are some before pics...

well, the pics dont appear to be working just right yet. they are in my gallery nonetheless.... try linking here if they don't show up for you... ----> http://vfrworld.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/3236/ppuser/1624

Okay, here;s what I did... I took all the panels off and brought them into the LR to work on. I cleaned them all with PRo Honda Spray polish. I tried sanding the scratches down to do the touch up work but it became evident pretty early on that it would be much more work than the amount of gain in looks. After that, I just ook the touch up paint I had and started covering up the deep scratches the best I could... But, as you guys know, I like to ride... Anyway, I got the work done ASAP and got the panels back on. See here ->http://vfrworld.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/3239/cat/500/ppuser/1624

So after that, I headed out for a short ride... About 40-50 miles to see how she felt. I've gotta say, my instinct feels a little off right now. I don't know if it's just the cold or the off feeling you get post crash. Regardless, I'll work through it. I plan on logging a few miles tomorrow. The bike is in rideable shape until I decide which direction to go with the repairs... Back to stock, or start customizing....hmmmm......

Glad to hear your back on the horse; your touch up looks pretty good in the pics has to at least be a 10 footer. If you where to customize what way are you thinking of going?

I have been giving this a lot of thought... I'm thinking of a whole new tail section sharpening it up some and changing the lights to the new round style on yamaha and raising the tail. Changing the pipe to and underbike exit ala GP bikes which frees up the rear tire for viewing... Blasting and painting or chroming, wheels, frame, SSSA, rear hugger ditching the current fender and chainguard... Possibly rearsets, new chain and sprocket with some color, and then maybe a custom paint scheme with skulls, flames, pirates or something like that. Maybe a flaming skull pirate head hehe... Still want a base of red, but I want some more color in there...

You did a really good job, or the pictures hides it well, but that really doesn't look like anything happened at all. The best thing to do is go out and ride as much as you can until you forget about it, good luck.

A few years back I highsided in a corner on my CBR. Broke the RH footpeg/brake assembly off, and the front brake lever. I walked away from it but since I was out in the sticks I had to ride it that way back to civilisation. Got over being scared in a real hurry that day.
