I saw this article and thought to myself there is a disparaty between how I thought motorcycles are stolen based upon the police (picked up and placed in a van) vs how this thief says he stole bikes. I have had a bike stolen from me and it was exactly how this thief details in the article. Anyway, I got a lot of tips from this little article and the comments in the comments section. https://rideapart.com/articles/ask-a-motorcycle-thief
Interesting article, for sure. I wouldn't read too much into the differences between the cop and the thief, since they're on different sides of the atlantic, and I'm sure tactics are different from country to country. All I can say is I'm glad I live where I do, I've never heard of a streetbike being stolen anywhere near where I am, it's always dirtbikes and quads.
Indeed. I had my '98 VFR stolen in '00 outside my apartment in GA. The prick hotwired it and when the police finally got the ass while riding my bike he laid it down on both sides. But he stole it exactly like the theif laid out in the article. I didn't have an arlarm or any security on it. I'm going to take care of that today. I just saw that someone has posted this before http://vfrworld.com/forums/showthread.php/38549-confessions-of-a-motorcycle-thief. My bad
