You can always get custom saddles from one the Mayer brothers. Or you can have your seat refurbished with new foam and/or cover by Sargents.

I re-foamed the seat for mine myself.... its not that hard, and if the cover is in good shape you can reuse it. Mine turned out to be really comfortable, but not so much for bigger people (I used a lot less foam to lower the height).

arnie, what year bike do you have? I know Corbin did make a seat for my '87 700, but they are probably very hard to come by.

I would call corbin they are usually very nice about making a once discontinued seat. You may have to wait about 2-3 weeks but usually they will not give you a hard time.

I talked with Corbin earlier today. They'll do a on-off "ride-in" seat. You show up with bike and old seat, they replace the foam and cover, using the old seat pan.

I'm currently wondering how well they're navy leather will look on the RWB VFR (instead of the navy to royal stock seat).

    ~$300

I talked with them, and they said they can do it as a drive-in, just make an appt and show up on the bike and they'll make the seat on the spot, custom to the bike/seat.

The factory is up in Hollister, CA.

    I think so.

The key difference from a normal seat from them is that they don't have a new seat-pan, but instead have to put it on your current seat pan.

would anyone down in that area be willing to get two seats made? I want a corbin, but keep missing out on the deals I find on CL and ebay by MINUTES.

I might just get chuck to make a one seat rear tail and keep it at that.

for the pre-1990 bikes, Corbin wants the bike+seat+rider at the factory to do it. From reading about others who've gone this route, it's clearly the route to go, as they'll custom-fit the seat to you and the bike on the spot.

Now I need to decide if the seat or new handlebars will give me the bigger improvement in comfort.

    DIY Seats

    For those that:

Can't get a new seat anymore,

    Have an unusual bike,

Are too cheap to pay $350+ for an aftermarket seat.

I did it and I'm borderline dumb.
