Love the bike....well, all but the damn rear tailsection. Another example of the modern day "lop-off!" Do a great job on the front, and just cut off the rear....who gives damn! Kinda like a chick with a great rack, but a weird looking ass...yes, I am am ass man!

FINALLY, a new bike that isn't vomit inducing ugly. Now, if they would finish putting the tail piece on the bike, I would definitely be interested. That's another thing I don't get about new bikes. Why on earth can't the designers design a bike that has a full rear sub frame? Is the quest for low weight so freaking important that they need to make the bikes completely unproportional? The best example of what I'm talking about is the Triumph Speed Triple. I love the bike but I would much rather get a Monster simply because it looks so much better.

That's the one i've been waiting for and no, I'm pretty sure Honda isn't watching, nor do they care, and frankly, i haven't really been holding my breath for the 7th gen vfr....this is the bike i've been lusting after as my next machine. Looks like the vfr might become a museum piece parked in the house, should my plot to get my sweaty hands on one actually hatch.

The only thing Honda has over that machine is....legendary reliability.....can't wait to see one in person and get an idea of what the warranty is. I'm guessing the r version would be somewhere around 20K.....ah well, it's only money and whoever said money can't buy happiness, has no idea how to spend money.

That bike with a full ti akro system would be a pretty hard act to follow. Max Biaggi should have a pretty good platform next year in WSBK on the factory version. Stunning, simply stunning. Ah, the visions of Aprilia kit parts dance in his head......

    I like it!
Those mirrors, however, probably would give an outstanding look at your elbows.
Oh well, can't have it all....
    Or can you?
When does that 09 VFR get announced?

    Sorry I went there folks.

Looking closer, what are the things that look like steering dampers vertically behind the forks tubes?

Presureized damping system resivoir. It's an Ohlins superbikle fork. Total eye candy, and no doubt better than anything I've ridden.
I took this Duc shot at the IMS MotoGP.

The blue rod is likely a measurement device for data logging suspension movement. That's how they set up the high end bits, with real track data.

I've always been partial to Aprilias...much more so that Ducatis. I've always really liked the Mille, the Mille RSV first and 2nd gen, the Tuono, and I very much liked the Falco. It reminded me of Aprilia's version of a VFR.

I'm with completely DerStuka on not being real big on this minimal tail/rear section design sensibility of late, however. The new 1000RR is the worst in this regard; man that is an ugly bike. Yuck.
