Well, I have been looking into either an 04 VFR or an 04 Aprilia RST. I am kind of undecided???? Does anybody have any input on the Aprilia?

    Thanks

VFRs suck. Go with the Aprilia.

Obviously most people here would say VFR, but maybe if you can give a better idea on what you're looking to get out of the new bike?

I know the majority,100% of replies will be for the VFR. But I was hoping somebody has had an Aprilia and made the switch to the VFR. Or maybe they know somebody that has one.

I understand. My comment was made in jest. WE do a lot of that around here. But was just trying to see if you had something specific, rather than asking what somebody else's specifics were. Presumably, unless they still rode the Aprilia, they moved from the Aprilia to the VFR because they felt it was better.

I guess I am not being much help here since I don't know about the Aprilia. Hopefully someone will give a response that actually has some credibility!

    Good luck, sir!

I was seriously looking for a Futura when I got my VFR. I looked and looked and they were hard to find (relative to other bikes that is). When I finally got on one to ride it, I really was underwhelmed by it. Looks wise, they are amazing, but the ride was crap in comparison. For one, the mirrors are ridiculous on the Aprilia. They are in a strange spot and are way bigger than they need to be. The giddy up just wasn't there in the bike either. Part of it could be I tried a 2002 APrilia and a 2007 VFR. Considering they don't make the futura anymore (and only did for like 3 years), it says something about the bike, I think. The VFR has been around for 30 years now and is still going strong. I think if they were more widely available and still in production, they would probably have had time to work some kinks out and get the bike right. Unfortunately, it just didn't have the time or the exposure to get tuned through the years.

Go VFR all the way...you won't be unhappy...

just had a look at the specs again and noticed that even though one is a 1000cc and one is 800cc (well, 781cc), the weights are nearly identical. What this tells me from my ride on the futura and my owning a VFR is that even though the VFR is heavier per cc, it is WAAAAYYY more powerful. I often feel like the VFR is going to rocket into space when taking off from the line and I could barely get the nose up when I rode the Futura. Again, could have just been that bike but it seemed well taken care of and in good shape. Maybe it was just the ridiculous orange color throwing me off...
