Has anyone heard of or used the ape manual cam chain tensioners on the 6th gen VFR? I had a VTR100 previously and it was a common mod to replace the honda ccts with apes.
There is not one listed on the website for a VFR, but a lot of honda ccts are the same and interchangeable.
The reason I ask is I have a pair in my shed and if they may fit the VFR, I may keep them.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want manual adjusters instead of automatic adjusters? Is there some particular issue with the VTR's?

On VTRs, the spring is known to break, and the harmonics of the engine cause the threaded plunger to back of (sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly)and the next step is the camchain jumps teeth, pisons hit valves and you have a pile of junk that was once an engine.
Not all engines will jump teeth wth a cct failure, but the VTR does.
    What about the VFR?
The manual tensioner has no chance of backing off, as it is locked with a locknut.
Once the correct tension is set, they usually dont need adjusting for about 10K Kms.

Wow. I've never heard of that one before. As far as I know, the 6th Gens don't have problems with them. Or what I should say is that I haven't seen any posts that mention it, and there are some high mileage bikes out there.
