I am running the original stock suspension (32k miles) and looking to improve it, but not spend a ton of money.

Race Tech has fork rebuild kits, and rear springs and the ability to add a nitrogen valve to the shock:

Anyone use their stuff? Is there something else that would be better for around the same price?

I have the .95 springs and gold valves in my front from Racetech. Much better than stock.

    Yep.

I would pull the forks/shock and mail them to jamie. His prices are very good and I'd bet you spend the same or more going the racetech route. And lots more time. I'd rather have the suspension expert opening up my shat.

Racetech also sells components like Gold Valve kits, rear suspension units ect. Unless someone has had experience with both the Racetech or any other including Jamie's stuff, then all this mine is bigger than yours shit is just opinion and not fact.

I have the Racetech Gold Valves and rebound emulators in my forks with I think 1.10kg springs. I've ridden on numerous bikes with full blow Ohlins and it performs nearly the same on the street. I can't vouch for differences on track. I also can't vouch for what JD does but I've always heard good things.

As far as how pleased I am the price and performace, I wish that it was one of the first things I'd have done to the bike. Also, as soon as I did it, it was immediately apparent how much more was needed with the rear shock. I've added a Penske 8983 with 1200kg spring and as soon as I get my lazy ass around to adding some preload, the suspension on this thing will be phenomenal.

Anyone use Nitron? THey make a shock for the VFR, built to your specs, so I have been told.
