Anyone near Raleigh, NC that could check out an '06 VFR800 for me?

Guys,

My wife and I shared a Honda interceptor vfr800 until February this year when she was t-boned by another driver. By the grace of God, she is only recovering from a broken leg! Now that some time has past we have decided to replace the bike.

I've located a used car dealer in Raleigh, NC that is selling a 2006 VFR, and it looks ideal. The dealer doesn't have good web reviews, and since I'm not local, I'd prefer to have an independent opinion on the bike. You all were so helpful in pursuit of our first vfr, so I figured I'd start here with #2

No ABS = negative
Bags and cosmetic condition = positive
Aftermarket bars = who knows?

$6000 seems steep to me for seven years old and no ABS.

 

I agree with Digitallyhip. That bike is basically new but still 7 years old. I would bet the car dealership would bring that down a bit. I also bet they only gave the PO $1500 - $2000 as trade in value for this. I understand they are in the business to make money but it doesn't need to be solely from you. Was wondering what all has been done to that bike. I see that the handlebars have been changed at least.

 

price is under kelly bluebook retail but can prob be negotiated down. thats the asking price. as far as no abs goes, i consider that a plus. guess its a preference thing. but i believe that you are doin right to be trying to find someone to check it out for you, sorry i cant help

Ttmech - thanks for getting back to me, but I've decided not to pursue this particular bike. It does not have abs, it was acquired at an insurance auction and the dealer has poor reviews. Thank you very much for offering!
