I am kind of contemplating getting rid of my stain tune for a black carbon fiber slip on set up from 2 Brothers. My bike is yellow (2000) and I think the bright stainless kind of sticks out like a sore thumb and it might look better with a carbon cannister. Before I make a decision, I would love to see a pic if anyone has one on their 5th gen.....

This is my current set up (I have since put on a Sargent seat as well :) :

Are you going to stay with a low mount or switch to high mount?

From what I undetstand, the carbon fiber keeps the slip on cool to the touch. Shouldn't harm soft saddlebags.

Hmmmm...really...than a high mount may be an option. Is that a clean install for those that have done it?

I am only going by what I have heard (since I do not own one yet) but they are supposed to be a straight swap. Maybe at worse a homemade bracket for support for the can.

I had a Micron high mount on my 5th gen and the bags fit nicely over top with no issues at all!

I have Carbon Fiber cans on my Duc and I can actually grip the can like I'm holding a cup and it's luke warm to the touch! This is even after several hours of riding. Not sure if the TB's are going to be the same, but that's my experience.

Cheap, nasty shit. The equivalent of putting a Hyosung badge on a Bimota DB7.

I have a 98 VFR, and I think the high mounts look nasty on these bikes. I don't like Staintunes, they have a shiny, pimp daddy look that I would never put on my bike, and my friend has one on his VFR and it doesn't sound any better than anything else. In fact, I heard Two Bros and Leo Vince I thought sounded deeper and smoother.

Really? - I think the high mounts look much better than the stock mounts.

We are all entitled to our opinion. I personally think they look better than the enomous OEM can. I like that it shows off the single sided swingarm. That is such a prominent feature of the VFR, it should be showcased, not hidden. Which is exactly why they went with the undertail exhaust on the 6th gen's. I think we can all agree that is definately one area that looks better on the 6th gen.
