So, I have had my VFR800 disassembled for well over a month now. I preped the plastics and tank for paint. I took the parts to a motorcycle specific shop and they told me they would shoot Candy Red for $700. It seemed a bit over expensive since everything was ready for paint. I had my truck sprayed for $500 (bumpers, hood, doors, etc. I removed them and installed after paint) and it was great! And I didn't prep them. So I called other shops in the area and no one wants to touch or paint motorcycle fairings. I live in the San Gabriel Valley, West Covina to be exact. Anyone know of a good shop?

By the way, what does this job actually cost? I could imagine that this would take 2 hours at most and paint.

they are difficult to paint because of all the different angles and pockets.

and since they are difficult and no one want to touch them, the few shops that do will charge a lot. Supply/demand.

two hours? doubt it... I'm sure an actual shop that's set up to do this shit on a daily basis is probably 4x faster than I am - but; setup, prime, light hand sand, prime, set, paint, clear, clear, clear, buff.

Like scoob said - VFRhubby is the closest we have to a pro painter on the board and could say with better authority.

I have done several spray can jobs before. However, this new, small, place I got is really restricting. I don't have space and its not allowed. SO, I have to hand them over. I had actually bought the paint and before to use with my compressor. New place, no space.
