There are different part numbers listed for throttle bodies, at least 02-05 vs. 06+. I realize this could be because the 06+ had different injectors which are included in that part. But outside of the injectors, are there any differences in the throttle bodies or could I put a 2007 throttle body on my 2003 with no issue? Mostly concerned about the TPS, I would think its the same, but the ECM did change 06+ so perhaps its different.
Difficult one and I suspect the only way to check for sure is to contact Honda. Even your local dealer may not be willing to give a definitive answer, and will probably need to check with HQ. As a general concept Honda are unlikely to want to incur the expense of redesigning/retooling/manufacture of a component if they can make use of an existing one. So you may be able to get an idea simply by checking the micro fiche to see if the part number remains the same for the two dates. If they are the same then its a good chance they will work. You might want to understand how the Honda Part numbering system works, so this link may be helpful.. http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BInterchange.htm In most cases (not all) a part originally made for a CB500 will carry that same part number even if it is later fitted to a VFR or other Honda products (so not just motorbikes). For the older bikes if you are looking for a specific part, that information can expand the pool of potential used parts sources. Take care SkiMad
