Guess this should go in the 3rd Gen forum but most of my crew hang out here so......

40K on the clock. Still don't know why the lower fairing decals are missing. Otherwise she's a cherry!

Came with a lot of extra parts and accessories including all the factory stuff that was swapped out.

I waited two months for the transport! Well worth the wait!

    See video next post.....

Thanks, brother. There's certainly something to be said for getting a bike that doesn't need any work done on it! ;)

Goddam... very nice. (I did get a sneak peek...) Boy, somebody did remove every decal that wasn't clear coated.

And please don't dismiss the 3rd/4th Forum. Every forum needs traffic and I'm over there often and plenty of people follow the activity. Spread the love!!

    Congrats dude. So F-ing nice.

Oh... and don't try and introduce DOLLIES & PADS Dude as some kind of background substitute. So smack my girl on the ass for me and tell her what she said about RogueRC24 was so on point.

OK I will. Keeping everything as it is for now.

    LOL....hilarious!

OK I will post over at that forum tomorrow. Happy to spread the love! :)

I wasn't trying to put it down. I just don't hang out there like I do here.

BTW....the transport also included this RC24 engine. I guess I will use it on that one that had a mice nest in the air box with the froze engine.

Anyone know what the deal is with these rear turn signals?

I have the ones currently on the bike integrated with the tail/stop light ---- and then the traditional "stalk" types wrapped in bubble wrap that came with the bike.

My first one came like this one - no stalked blinkers.

    TIA for any insights here!

Are you talking about the rear turn signal question I had?

If so, here is a couple pics off the internet of an RC36 like mine with the traditional "stalk" turn signals in place.

I don't get it......why are there two sets of rear turn signals from the factory?

At the time, USDOT would not approve the integrated turn signals the rest of the world got. They weren't far enough apart. So Honda added the stalk signals (with additional reflector mount). The red lenses had plugs in them where the bulb socket goes. All 90 - 93 were like this in the US. 94 got the amber lenses only. Those amber lenses are identical and can be installed, but a red rear turn signal is legal.

I bought a set of Amber lenses in Germany in 92 and re-sold them multiple times for very good money. In 94, the jig was up.

OK thanks, Capt. Now that you mention this, I remember you saying the same thing a while back.

In fact, I think I managed to find a couple amber lenses on eBay and have them in my spares. In any event, I prefer the look without the stalks so will leave it as it is.

I did notice my left rear blinker wasn't working when I went through the bike on Friday so maybe a loose connection or burned out bulb to check out. Everything else is working as it should.

I used some front t/s sockets and made the rears running lights too, so the whole rear red panel is illuminated.

Rear amber running lights are technically illegal, but I see people with them quite often. I've even done it in the past on some VFs, but disabled them. An amber running light means the front of a vehicle.

Good to know. This bike has some kind of LED license plate light so will need to see how that looks. It may be programmable too.....

Took my Mini-ceptor over and rode the new bike home today. Stopped on the way back to show it to my mechanic and his son, who really loved it.

Bike rode great but will need a longer ride for a better feel of things.

Gotta get it registered & legal first. Will take the lower fairings off to get the Vin verification and then can also apply the decals while they're off.

    IMG_3159.JPG

That LED light in back also works as a brake and turn signal light. Not really a fan so it may not last.

    IMG_3161.JPG

Also the lowered footpegs make it harder to operate the brake and shifter. Also to drop the side stand. Speaking of which maybe I should remove that little fairing for now to preserve it.

Finally got around to removing the lower fairings. No indication of any repair work but they definitely have been re-painted, thus the reason for no VFR decals.

My other RC36 looks like it too had been re-painted. Looks like someone taped off it's VFR decals though.

I plan to apply the new decals in the next day or two and will post pics when done.

That is still my favourite generation of VFR; it must have been released when I was at an impressionable age! They hardly ever come up for sale here (there's just too few of us on these islands). I am a tiny bit jealous.

Thanks, Terry. Quite a few show up here on a regular basis...in a variety of condition, of course. But quite a few look to be well maintained, which is always refreshing to see!
