Ok, so here is the deal. I pulled my R/R out of my bike and the connector from the Stator to the RR is melted on one of the plugs. my question is does this mean the stator could be bad? I tested it with the electrosport flow chart tests, and it passed all of them. but since stators can be bad when hot also could this be my problem?

I dont want to install a new RR and have it blow up because of the stator, please help me out guys!!

You could try checking hot and cold to see if there's a difference. As you probably already know, stators are pretty expensive. See if it has any continuity to ground when hot on any of the three yellow leads. I have heard of huys here that had to replace their stator too. I was lucky (so far) and I just replaced the RR and I've been fine for over a year now on my '97.

Common issue. Fix is to solder the three yellow wires and eliminate the connector completely. Typically the stator and the RR is OK.

The connector can get dirty/corroded and not provide enough contact to allow the voltage to pass - which causes heat.

In stock form and with clean connections, there is barely enough surface contact to handle the voltage.

oh ok sweet! I believe that the connectors are really dirty and corroded anyway. Thanks man that's exactly the answer I was looking for! I guess if it is not ok ill find out anyway when I test the whole deal.
