    Hi everyone,
I've enjoyed stalking the VFR threads for a few years now, fell in love with the VFR in 2002. Finally convinced the wife that it was time and purchased my first bike in 20 years: Pearl White 2002....

Now before you tell me that this colour was not available in 2002 (like is posted in some other threads), I'm pretty much 100% sure that the entire paint job is factory Pearl Sunbeam White (NHA66P), although the code under the seat says NHA64 (Black). So.... did a previous owner change out all plastics, tank etc. to an '06 Pearl White? Seems like a lot of work if it wasn't wrecked, and no wreck on the UVIP.

Anyways, will post some pics soon. She's sweet, some minor scratches and looks like someone laid her down gently on the right side, but other than that - all electrical recalls taken care of and @ 60K km's (a little high), runs like a dream and has been well looked after.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts, mod's, examples and shared knowledge... it helped me confirm that this is the only bike I've ever wanted.

    Cheers.

Congrats on your new VFR & welcome to the site.

The previous owner should have been able to comment on paint. I don't think a wreck would show up on the UVIP unless the bike was branded a salvage title, and then in that case you couldn't put it on the road anyway up here. It could be he just swapped out the plastics, or had it painted. If I had my heart set on a certain colour and it wasn't available a complete paintjob would be a fairly cheap way to do it.

Thanks Woobie. The previous owner said he didn't know (I'm the 4th owner), so seems someone along the line must have replaced all plastics and the tank with 2006 (I am assuming) Pearl White. Pretty sure it's all factory... looks exactly like the 06's in the pics I've seen... attached some here - one of the rear and one of the full bike.... qualities not the greatest of my BB, but y'all can be the judge on whether it's stock or not. Regardless, happy I went with the white even if it's not original.... makes an '02 look like an "06

    Cheers.

I suggest that if it is in fact an 02, someone somewhere went through considerable trouble and expense to change it to the 06 pear; while. I mean it has the interceptor decal on the rear and the wings on the tank. I would be inclined to check out the VIN to ensure it is in fact and 02. Someone may have fugged around wiuth the bike and it is not properly registered. Either that, or like was said, everything was swapped out. I can't see why someone would go thorugh that trouble. Why not just keep the plastics on the 06 and ride it. Dunno.

BTW. Welcome. Think we are going to have to start the Canadian Regiment of the 6th Gen Militia.

Thanks Randy - I can only hope she lasts as long as yours - how many K now? I think I saw you were up over 120K? Hardcore sweet.

I verified the VIN on-line (as well as the UVIP I received when purchasing and licensing it), and it is definitely a 2002 and the colour code under the seat reads (Color: NH-A64P, Code: NHA64... which is definitely Black) You're right, it would be considerable trouble and cost, but hey... I'll take a 2006 body any day - I figure it's like a boob job and a face lift, just less noticeable :) The VIN is clean, so was title and no liens, I was able to fully register it, receive plates, insurance etc.... so whatever happened in the past, will probably never know but kind of an interesting mystery behind it anyways.

@ Slowbird - right around the corner from you man. See you on the roads, stay safe.

Creeping up on 130K km. Should be ready for its 130 k service just before I head to Scotland in a week. Going to get the forks re-built too while I am gone. Still original oil and seals in there.
