i've posted a few threads for this project up already but i'vefinally started on my project sorry no pics yet.

the progress over time i've owned it.
    1. first mod lighter chain and sprockets.
    2. lighter clutch. full barnett Kevlar kit.
    3. new fairings. ebay specials.
    4. fixed the reg rectifier issue. twice.
    5. fixed a dead ecm on it.

    last couple of weeks,
    new led taillight assembly
    new led headlights
    new led indicators
new led every bulb in the dashboard
total minus about 100w of electrical demand.

got a couple of micro controller boards for building a new ecm.
looking to include higher rpm limit, cylinder deactivation, wet/dry maps, etc
programming is progressing slowly but still progressing.

also looking at doing an adaptive suspension controller as well.

Are you dead set on making your own ECM? If not, you can get a microsquirt and do all custom programming for it. The hardware is already built and really nice to work with.

    MicroSquirt Engine Management System DIYAutoTune.com

Adaptive suspension controller? Now that would be TRICK!!!!

Thanks but I am not a fan of the microsquirt/megasquirt range.

Also using the same board/s for suspension controller, etc Making life easier for myself, or at least trying to, by using the same board.

Forgot to mention in the original post also did rear wheel bearings and steering head about 6-12 months back. new fork tubes about then too.

I'll also be doing an overhaul of the brake system. Maybe some braided lines. new rotors, brake pistons, etc are sitting in the shed waiting for me

how are you going to accomplish the cylinder deactivation?

turn off fuel and spark to a cylinder or 2 for a few rpm. at light loads. if it doesn't produce desired results then. bastardized vtec with a dual lobe cam perhaps.

New springs on the way, and some braided brake lines too. Looks like the adaptive suspension may be first cab off the rank.

Wow! That's ridiculous. Shouldn't you be using that brain of yours to cure cancer or something? Geez!

Seriously though, that sounds like a lot of work. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing the results.

    Springs have arrived.
fronts are installed, haven't change fork oil weight yet.
The difference is night and day compared to stock but they aren't dialled in yet.

pics of the hyperpro vs stock below,

hyperpro is the one on the bottom.

hyperpro is the one on top.

Haven't fitted the rear spring yet.

controller board is here. Just need to get some magnetic particles now.

How much were the hyperpro springs? Very interesting with the adaptive suspension. I wouldnt even have a clue as to where to start.

I'm using the olimex stm-32a controller board for those following the project.

any one have ideas for a cheap rig for testing fluid viscosities and effective spring rates?

Still waiting on bolts for the new front brake rotors.

Had the bike out for a ride today. It finally stopped raining!!!!!

Suspension upgrade was definitely worth the $. Holds a line in corners well, very settled in the corners, uses it's tyres about right. Will be interesting to see how much better it can be made.

Still working on a bare metal programming style for the microcontrollers. On a steep learning curve though.
