I have posted this before but my problem has not gone away. bike cuts out due to a a yellow electric block with alot of green with silver mark wires going into this block. the block is on the located under the left internal plastic on the lights loom just after the two big connectors that attach the loom to the main loom. mines taped up to loom. i've had to bring the bike back on the recovery lorry again so ive decide to just replace the light loom. does anyone know what this block is for. 10550917_10204196134721519_335582279906348105_n.jpg ive tried looking through the haynes manual but can't find it on the wiring loom

I TOOK THESE FROM A DIFFERENT SITE this is what i think has happen to mine.

Hopefully, someone here knows exactly what you're referring to and will respond shortly. Unfortunately, I have no idea what a "loom" is! Don't know if it's my American English that's at fault or I'm just a bafoon. I was able to figure out that "recovery lorry" meant "tow truck"! Haha. If you have a larger perspective photo showing the location of the connector, I'd be happy to look it up in the service manual and let you know what it says in there. Right now, I can't tell exactly where to look for you. (The manual is in black and white.)

the loom is the mass of wires that runs through the bike connecting everything. the yellow block has what i think is all the earth wire connected to it. the head light go out the fuel primer pump dont work . the yellow block is taped to the mass of wire that goes from the blue and the grey connector blocks that joins the mass of wire for the head lights to the rest of the bike,

Translation: Loom = harness, earth = ground, yellow block collection of ground wires all joined by some type of shorting cap. Contact resistance is obvious culprit. Resistance = heat, contacts should not have any resistance.

Interesting. I've seen this several times on 5th gen but this is the first on 6th gen.

I've ways referred to that connector as the ground buss. On mine, I soldered the whole group together.

Why to the English drink warm beer?
    Because Lucas makes the refrigerators!

Rarely does anyone report that block failing, but there is a thread regarding it on VFRD. I think they fixed it by grounding all the wires together, too.

Probably happens here 4-6 times /yr on gen 5 anyway.

But now that there's a thread on VFRD, we can believe it's for real. :)
