I do most of my own work and I avoid like the plague going to the dealer for service. Needing 2 new skins mounted and having the wiring harness recall done I reluctantly took it to the local Honda dealer. I cleaned the bike before I dropped it off and there was absolutely not one scratch mark on the wheels, picked it up today and when I got home and really looked it over...Surprise-Surprise! the frigging hatchet man they call the tire tech left at least 8 large scratches/gouges on my wheels where there is now no paint.

The next good experience at a dealer service department will be the first for me; they just don't seem to care. Going back tomorrow to vent! and get some touch up paint ordered.

 

So what dealership? Spread the bad word. I don't think I'll ever come up your way to get some new tires put on, but if you had a bad experience, I'd like to know where.

 

If you left the dealer knowing the damage was there but didn't do anything about it then... You're probably not going to have much chance.

This is for anyone. Inspect your bike BEFORE & AFTER you get to the dealer. Take photos if necessary. The best option you have is to learn to do most normal maintenance yourself.

It was dark and right before closing when I picked it back up so I couldn't see much until I got home in my lit garage. I do virtually all of my own maintenance but I don't have the equipment to mount tires.

BTW, to add insult to injury I checked the pressures this morning: 48 lbs. rear, 46 lbs. front. They can't even put the correct amount of air in...

atleast you got it back... the honda dealer in key west would have your bike for at least six months and then tell you that they dont make tires for it any more... fuck victor in key west! his shop looks like a crack house. needless to say i only go there to purchase oil.
