TwoBrothers has an exhaust setup to make a VFR a single muffler bike with the other canister for storage.

    Da CLIK!

My idea is to modify an OEM exhaust the same way. Thoughts?

Very quick install. Few extra liters of storage. Set up works well. Sounds good. (low and throaty) Still much quieter than the stock exhaust on my Ducati 1198.

While gutting the exhaust isn't my favorite mod, I don't see much difficulty. Fashion a new mid-pipe (maybe the 2 bros mid would fit), figure out a way to securely cap and mount the stash can, and, if it were me, get it tuned. 2 Bros promises that a one can design provides more torque, doubtful that it applies here, but possibly. I'm betting that of you successfully do it, many would follow.

I do not often suggest this, but a little searching at VFRDiscussions may give you some insight on this project.
It sounds sorta familiar from a few years back, but cannot be certain.

Let us know what you find out.

I'm picturing welding a block in the left pipe at two points, one at the junction to route all exhaust right, the other at the front end of the canister to keep small stuff out of the pipe. Plan is to buy an OEM Muffler set, take 'em to a custom shop and let them have at. With full pic documentation for VFRW viewing pleasure or course....
