Has anyone used Amsol or any other synthetic oils? Getting ready for my 1st change on my Gen 6 any suggestions are invited. Thanks, Walt
Duh!!! Just noticed if you spell the name of the product correctly a plethora of information is available on search....Sorry bout that
Wars have been started for axin' such a question..... :gun3: :kaboom: :faint: :rip: Amsoil is great oil, redline is great oil, golden spectral is great oil, but I prefer KY jelly FOR HER pleasure..... Just make sure that it is not an "energy-conserving" type oil with additives (mainly moly) that can el smoko your clutcho in no timeo. I use Rotella Synthetic 5w-40 for $21.00 a gallon from wally world, and purolator pure one filters from pep boys for $6.99. Use whatever blows up your skirt, just change it on a regular basis. These link might be of some use..... CLICK ME, NO CLICK ME don't forget to click me ME ME TOO, CLICK ME "Riders of bikes that use wet clutches (almost all but some Ducati and Harley) must be cautious with some of the new API defined "Energy Conserving" motor oils. Some specific additives in these oils can cause the clutch's on some bikes to slip under heavy load. Molybdenum Disulphide is considered the main culprit for clutch slippage (although other friction modifiers, phosphorus and zinc, or poor clutch condition/design may truely be the culpret). While this should all be of concern when using a non-motorcycle specific motor oil, the Mobil 1 has been used for years by motorcyclists with no problems." You aren't Walt Disney are you?
