I have a Wolfman Beta Plus saddle bag that works great on my old XR600 and 250L but just did not sit or attach well on my Interceptor. So after a bit of reading I decided to try the "Amazon Basics" brand bags for $50 and was pleasantly surprised with quality and fit!

No, the material is not as heavy as Wolfman's, neither are the zippers or plastic clips as heavy duty. That said, the material, zippers and clips are not poor quality. The design, stitching and fitment are very good quality, and while the bags are not waterproof there are green waterproof covers included - though after a ride with them they can indeed blow off. So I Scotchguarded the bags. You can get a sense of what they can hold, that's a 2L water bottle in the bag, they hold quite a bit. One can go on and on about quality, generally I'd pay more for quality, however this is a pretty good compromise in terms of quality and cost. I think if you're looking for bags that fit a VF500, work well, and look good then I think these are pretty good!

Not bad. Just make sure it stays off the muffler.

The photo doesn’t show clearly, but there’s a good 10” between mufflers and bags. I’m mite concerned about riding in the rain.

Ag good then. It looked like the bag was practically sitting on the muffler.
I have scorched my luggage before is why I say it.

Plenty of space between these bags and the exhaust on VF500.
