that bike is awesome! i dont know if i could with clear conscious own that bike though. its too perfect and i would just molest it! lol:tongue:
i just would not be able to resist putting pipes on that bike. to hear the sound of a six cylinder bike! fucking A! but on a bike in that condition, of that caliber, would just be wrong... i guess:rolleyes: lol
maybe in another 40 years or so i would be mature enough for something like that lol

That bike is a piece of history. I'd love to own it myself, but already have enough money invested in my 1986 collection. If you've got the money, then put in an offer. You'll have the security of knowing that this bike will only appreciate in value.

Dude, my step-dad had one, when I was a kid; it was tricked out to the max, louder than Hell and faster than a silver bullet (which it looked like, since it was naked and silver)!

Those are great bikes, if I could afford to, I'd be bidding against ya!

Buy it. Not for from me in Ft Smith, AR. I'll be glad to go get it and ride it to you for a small fee.

BTW, OEM tires, hard as a rock by now. Will definitely need new, as well as a general freshening.

I like it! a little too steep for a novelty bike for me though. However it would be great to have for a weekend getaway in style :)

The CBX is definitely a classic! The question is what will you do with it? Fix any little thing on it that doesn't appear right and then just look at it and maybe stroke it every now and then? How about drive the piss out of it and wish you didn't. Either way, I made that mistake with a '79 CB 750. I picked it up on eBay 3 years ago, fixed it up and sold it this spring as I wasn't using it. Good luck though! She's a beauty!

    CBX's for sale

I keep a prettty good eye on the local market here in NZ and have noticed lately that a number of CBX's have come up for sale in the last 6 months or so. certainly there havent been any for sale for a Looooong time. So I guess its a sign of the recession that these rarities are being offered up when the economy goes down the toilet...

here are 3 currently listed on trade me (like your craig list). differant years, differant colours, differant prices...interesting stuff...

this full dress CBX is an 81, has 38K on the clock and the owner is asking a measly $10K for it (all prices NZ Dollars)..a veritable bargain

next we have this silver standard version. it is registered as an 81 also and has 25500Km on the clocks and is offered for $13K. need a bit of TLC but is in the popular silver colour...

Lastly this red beast is a 79 CBX z model. it has 76Km on the clocks but is in immaculate and original condition. it is for sale at $18,500.
it is the only one of these 3 for sale at a dealer and definately the best of the 3, even with the highest kms.

The CBX is a bit of a cult bike here in NZ so its no surprize there are quite a few lurking around out there.
