Fellow VFRworld Friends, After a polarizing election cycle and as we enter a season of thanks and giving, I challenge you to think positively and show your own world some kindess. Find a moto run that you can participate in, whether it be to fund disease or provide community resources. Post about the event and share pics! Post up charity motorcycle events throughout the year, even if you can't make them, as others may be able to. What else are you doing for your community? Post up! You may be able to give others ideas and challenges. These don't have to be motorcycle related. We have the finest people from all over the world come to this one place to share our passion. Share with the world what you are doing to make your little area of the world a better place this season, throughout the year, and in the coming years. One request, please keep this thread positive. <3 Anne Marie <3 Sumner, Cowley, and Harvey County Toy Runs 2016 Toys and money raised from auctions and food sales benefit those directly living in the county. That's a great challenge. Here in the first week of Dec.we have a toy run, http://olytoyrun.com/ Depending some what on the weather sets up the crowd, I've seen over 7000 bikes, 89% are HDs, 8% are GWs. Scooters included make up the rest.
It's not a moto run that you participate in, but I donated to RideMyRoad.org Lauren Trantham just completed a 10,000 mile journey across the USA on top of her Ducati to raise awareness of sex trafficking. She is also fundraising to help get 50 survivors back on their feet. During the journey, she took photos and interviewed many survivors. She's just completed her journey but they're still a little shy on the goal they wanted to achieve and still looking for donations. I donated already, it's a good cause, and moto related. Those survivors are someones daughter, sister, mother, aunt, etc ... Check it out here on the website: http://ridemyroad.org/ And on Face Book: https://www.facebook.com/ridemyroad/?fref=ts
If you're in the OR area, try and get out and support the cause for my new friend Lauren Trantham and all the survivors of Sex Trafficking that she's helping.
One of the goals seems to be to photograph the women who have been "trafficked". Maybe more information on what "trafficking" is would be germane rather than posting pix of women who will become, in a way, public figures. This looks to me more like a publicity event rather than therapy, prevention or help for women currently in this circumstance.
