Just thought I would let peopl eknow that for the next couple of days, till the third I think, the Aluminum motorcycle lift from Sears is on sale. Not a BIG savings; $159.99 vs. $169.99, then another $10 off if you are a Craftsman Club member (costs nothing to join). So $149.99

weighs the steel one is way cheaper, at $89.99 -- not on sale, but it weighs about twice as much. Also doesn't lift quite as high up. Mostly the weight is a lot less and thus easier to move around the garage and store when not in use.

There might be cheaper ones out there, but at least with Sears, nearly everyone has one nearby. And pretty much no matter where you move in the country, there is one nearby if you have a problem with it.

Those are no good unless you ride a Hardley Makeitson. Pretty much it would require removal of the bodywork each time and eventually it would ruin the exhaust. Save the money and and buy front end and swingarm stands. That's just my 2ยข.

Like anything, there are pros and cons. Yes removal of bodywork is required. But my 98 spent weeks on one, as I completed various tasks and the exhaust was fine. It also lifts the bike up higher than a front or rear stand, making working on the bike easier. It is also easier to move around the garage mid-project, when you have to work on something else. Just wheel it over to the corner. Can't do that with front and rear end stands.

I have all 3. Just bought this one, alreay have the Pit Bull rear stand, and a Pit Bull front end (steering stem) stand. Eventually I want to get a full sized one as well like you see in the shops.
