    I've been a lurker of this forum since I had my 2006 VFR back about three years ago give or take a few months. Since then, I had about two different bikes; a 2007 Suzuki SV650 and a 2009 Ducati 848. Sold the Duc about six months ago :frown: for money for a PV system for the house and have been without a motorcycle up until now! Yay! When I thought back about what motorcycles fit me the most, the VFR always came to mind. So I hunted down for one, and an awesome guy decided to part with his 07 RWB. Now i'm the proud new owner of another VFR! Ah...sweet reunion. Anyway, the VFR community on this forum as well as the VFRD site has always been a big help with my 06...so I thought I'd introduce myself and say "Aloha!".

    A VFR in Hawaii is a rare sight to see since many riders here prefer the SS bikes. Can't blame em since we really only have turns and not many straights. Plus. the speed limit here is 50mph, 60mph on our H3. I'm hoping I connect with more VFR owners in Hawaii, especially on O`ahu and do some cruises.

    Here's a pic of the steed! Sorry for the crappy photography... i'll try and do better with my future photos.

    Mahalo everyone! Now i'm off for a quick ride to chase the sunset! :wink:

    Welcome to the site. AS beautiful as you home state is, I think we over here on the main land have the advantage on roads to ride. We here are a little more "loose" that our brethren over at VFRD but I am sure you will fit in just fine.

    @Randy: Thanks! Yes, mainland is a way better place to ride...especially a sports tourer like the VFR. The roads here aren't all that great and if you ride long enough here, there are no new roads to explore...unless you get out to the other islands. Maui definitely has nicer roads to ride IMO. In Maui, you got a fantastic twisty ride up-n-down Haleakala. Love that ride. Just gotta watch out for cows and their crap on the road. :tongue:

    Cows! you say. The wife and I were over in Kauai a few years back. I've never seen so many fuggen chickens running loose anywhere in my life. Again, such a beautiful place you live in. There are others. Hell, even Manitoba has ist's own beauty. Then you wake up screaming and that is all done with. You can see the curvature of the earth from your back porch there if you don't get blown over by the wind or frozen by the temperate air.

    Aloha!
    Man I miss Oahu! 13T, Norfolk, Snake and Tantalus were it for turns, but not too shabby all together. Really its a shame there is no more track. Plenty of other great stuff about the island to make up for it! I also miss being able to take my bike to Andy and have a new tire in 45 minutes. No one around here like that!

    Aloha tyzy808,
    Welcome,

    I live in Hilo, and am a fairly new member of the forum. Lots of good people and info on this forum.
    Too bad the interisland hydros didn't last. If you ever make it to the Big Island I would be more than
    happy to take you on some nice rides. They redid the saddle road that took away alot of its "charactor".
    Have not riden my Superhawk for awhile after picking up my '87 VFR700F2. It my be closer to your ride.
    I got some triple digit areas if you are so inclinded, as I am sure you do also. Aloha!!!

    @smoke4ndmears: Sounds like you know your way around O'ahu! Yup, that's pretty much it for my island. Although, don't forget Wilamina (sp?) Rise, Saint Louis Drive, and a couple places in Manoa Valley. Yeah, I wish we had a track here... or even a make-shift one at Aloha Stadium like the drifters had a while back at Aloha Stadium. I've never taken my bike to Andy's...heard a few mix reviews about him. Thanks for the welcome! :biggrin:

    @Jose: Thanks for the welcome!

    @Onomea:
    I agree! My friends and I had actually booked a boat ride to the Big Island right before our legislature shut it down (big mistake!). We got a refund of course, but I'd had rather have the trip so we could go riding over there. Now the only way there is Matson and a couple cargo planes....so I've heard. My friends are planning a group ride to Maui this month. When they plan another to Big Island, I'll give you a holla! If you come O'ahu, let go riding as well! You can either rent, or ship your bike here. Thanks for the Aloha!

    Maybe one day there will be a track again... the SCCA guys that put on autocross at the stadium are great people, and thats about as close as you'll get. Andy is good people, though if you come to him with an attitude he can be difficult :) Just the same he offers great, quick service. Especially with tires!
