I will be an owner by SUnday- if all goes well of course.

Is it cheaper to buy a brand new VFR in Las Vegas, NV than California? I'm getting different information from different sources. However, I found the cheapest out the door price here in Southern California but Honda of Las Vegas won't give me their OTD price.

Your information will be greatly appreciated! If I could knock off a couple hundred $$$, it's worth the plane ticket and riding the VFR back to SoCal.

I used to own an 03 Honda 600RR. Long commute to work has forced me to switch to a "Sports Touring" but I couldn't give up the accelaration and feel of a
"sportsbike". Cruisers are out of the equation and F4i doesn't seem to cut it for me. Then while at the dealership, I spotted an 06 VFR. I sat on it and I was hooked. It looked like a beef-up version on my 600RR but with a touch of class.

Now if I can only the find the assurance that I got a good OTD price.... hmm

    Thank you

I think it'll cost you more to get it registered in CA if it's from out of state, but I don't know for sure. I know my vf 500 had a NV title and it cost over $100 to get the title changed to CA.

Good to know. I have families in Vegas and could use their address to register the bike. I'm not sure if it'll be an issue if I ride it daily in California with Nevada plate.

This is just my .02 , but is it really worth it for a couple of hundred bucks on a nine or ten thousand dollar purchase? They don't call them 49 state bikes for no reason...California always scared me on out of state purchases, smog, taxes and anything else they could find a way to make an extra buck...

At least with cars, I believe there's a rule that you can't register a new 49-state vehicle in California, because of their smog rules. I think you can bring in a used vehicle but it's got to have a certain number of miles first. You're probably better off to just buy the California bike, save yourself a lot of hassle.

I forgot about that, I believe it is 7500 miles. Because I was going to do the same thing as RSAL86 when I bought my Harley, till I did some research and found out about all the California rules...
