Getting all the loose ends buttoned up on my recently purchased 02. The air temp sensor is not giving me a reading. Removed enough fairing to access the back of the dash and found the blue/yellow wire cut. Solder and heat shrink repair but no difference. I'm not even sure what that wire goes to. Have a manual on the way but in the meantime, does anyone know what that wire feeds? How about what wire feeds the ambient air temp gauge and where is the sensor located? Are the sensors prone to going bad? I want to check for any other loose wires or connectors but dont know where to look without a manual.

The 02-09 Honda service manual is available for download in PDF form here on the forums. It weighs in around 192MB. The sensor for the ambient air temperature is located in the front cowl on the bottom side between the headlights. I believe that it goes to a 2pin connector coming out of the back of the dash or close to that area. It isn't something that is prone to going bad but I do recall seeing at least one post where someone had a bad one on here. Been a long time though. You will find the location of it listed on page 2-13 of the service manual.
