Hey guys. I have a problem with my wifes' new AGV K3 helmet. Only just got the helmet 2 weeks ago and went out for a ride, we had only done about 70 miles and my wife took her helmet off. She had swollen glands in her neck, we're assuming it was down to the helmet. A friend of mine has come across this before with AGV and I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or had the same problem. She has a scorpion exo 400 and she hasn't had any problems with that.

Swollen glands are nothing to take lightly. If you are not absolutely positive it is caused by the helmet, get into the doc. I get a little swelling occasionally just below the rear bottom of the jaw bone as well from my Shoei X12. Could it be that she has it adjusted just a tad too tight?

Thanks for the reply Randy, seen the doc and all is okay. The helmet is a snug fit but it doesn't seem too tight, I guess we'll just have see what happens the next time we go out.

Helmet fitment kind of depends on where the original design criteria came from. The old "if it ain't busted, don't fix it" is very much in play. Different folks have different shaped noggins. Now that seemingly anything is multi-national that may be out the window as far as the actual manufacturing location of a helmet but the basic input likely from physical anthropologists will be different in different parts of the world.

Just to get rolling with the all important self absorbed, subjective anecdotals, AGV's fit me fine and Arais and Shoeis don't . Now AGVs are made in South Korea or elsewhere and may be for all I know, shaped for Asian heads and not my prominent proboscis. Saving my pennies for a Shuberth..

Swollen glands? Caused by a crash helmet? Best bet on that is to hire a lawyer.
